Description
The Bowery Mission is a holistic, Christian faith-based organization dedicated to serving people who are experiencing homelessness. The Community Life team oversees all residential programming, including emergency and short-term shelters, long-term residences, and transitional housing. This position will have the
_Community Life Associate_ work in the
Men's Dorm, overseeing residents during their shift.


This is a full-time position
for 40 hrs per week in-person coverage:

Shift #1:
Thursday - Monday
11:30p - 8a (
Tues./Wed Off)

Responsibilities include:

Welcoming and orienting residents and volunteers, modeling and coaching independent living skills, promoting healthy communication, overseeing schedules, ensuring safety by conducting hourly rounds and scheduled fire drills, submitting timely progress and incident reports, and working collaboratively with Community Life and Shared Services teams.

Requirements:


  • Embraces the organization's Statement of Faith
  • Must be legally authorized to work in US, we do not offer sponsorship opportunities at this time
  • Highly relational with strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to follow protocol and provide accountability
  • High School Diploma or higher
  • Strong conflict resolution skills
  • Basic computer proficiency

Preferred:


  • Certified in Fire Safety (F80 or F02)
  • Certified in CPR
  • Valid driver's license
  • Associate's Degree in social services or relevant field


  • Certified in NCI

  • Non-Crisis Intervention

Salary:
$19.23 per hour
