    As a Material Handler II at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, you will be part of a supportive team that is the backbone of our hospital system.

    This role supports all roles at Cleveland Clinic through providing resources for other departments. The Materials Department works cohesively as a close-knit team. As a Material Handler II, you will ensure efficient daily operations of the maintenance storeroom and receiving dock.

    Responsibilities:
    Monitors the flow of traffic into dock areas and prioritizes deliveries.
    Verifies shipment accuracy.
    Checks for damaged goods. Documents variances and damaged goods spects and counts freight.
    Resolves incomplete deliveries and other problems with purchasing and accounting.
    Uses computes to process receiving documentation.
    Prepares goods and supplies for distribution, prioritizes deliveries, sorts and labels.
    Properly packs and determines method of shipment.
    Utilizes installed systems to receive storeroom stock items and to inspect items for damage and verify accuracy of shipment.
    Documents discrepancies on purchase order and submits to supervisor.
    Stocks picking locations.
    Rotates stock to minimize loss of materials.
    Picks storeroom orders. Resolves discrepancies or requisitions or filled orders.
    Maintains cleanliness of storeroom area; collects pallets from area and stacks for pick up.
    Assembles warehouse shelves and hardware.

    Maintains the proper and appropriate professional and ethical relationship with vendor representatives, conducts business according to established principles and guidelines.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Picks orders in timely and accurate manner.

    (Needs to complete a minimum of 100 picks per night)Picks using, First in First out strategy to ensure expiration rotationVerifies manufacturing number and pick locations before completion of pick.

    Sorts materials by order of proper hospital locationsDispatches orders to correct hospital units before 5am for incoming shiftHas time management awareness and contributes to the success of departureUses SCM databases to complete and close orders.

    Attends daily huddles for work assignmentsWorks in team oriented manner to complete work by communicating to co-caregivers on aspects of job.

    Directs questions and alerts leads and supervisors to ensure proper delivery and accuracy of work.
    Bends repeatedly to lift heavy totes, cases of paper, and pushes carts to dispatchBe adaptable to change of tasks. Cross training in ORs and stocking Eye Packs overnight may be requested after mastery of training.
    Fast paced, needs to be able to stay up during the overnight shift.

    Overtime will be demanded depending on workloadEducation:
    High School Diploma or GED.Must read, write, speak English to follow written and oral instructions.
    Basic knowledge of mathematics sufficient to add and subtract to maintain accurate logs.


    Certifications:
    None required.

    Meets all Cleveland Clinic insurance plexity of Work:
    Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
    Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.


    Work Experience:
    Three months on job training.
    Two years experience puter systems experience including bar code readers, handheld computers, and printers preferred.


    Physical Requirements:
    Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.

    May require periods of sitting, standing and the ability to walk to various locations throughout the health system to attend meetings.

    Must have normal or corrected vision and be able to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.
    Must have own transportation due to travel to multiple sites.
