    Job Description

    We are looking for a part-time Student Engagement Assistant/Civic Engagement Coordinator under the guidance of the Coordinator of Student Engagement for Programming & Activities. The role involves advising, promoting, and devising a marketing strategy to spark interest in civic engagement and the student engagement division. The appointed individual will serve as a representative of the Center for Student Engagement within a rotating team across all campuses with shared office duties.

    This position is part-time and paid on an hourly basis.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in developing and executing civic and voter engagement initiatives for students on campus, including voter registration, impartial voter education, and voter turnout campaigns.
    • Co-advise the SGA elections committee.
    • Collaborate with student groups to organize community service projects with local organizations.
    • Maintain a database of community service activities.
    • Contribute to the planning and execution of student engagement events.
    • Support day-to-day department operations such as answering calls, addressing student concerns, and front desk coverage.
    • Help with organizing commencement ceremonies, open houses, and end-of-year events.
    • Act as a chaperone for student conferences when necessary.
    • Undertake any other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • Skills: excellent organizational and communication abilities, effective planning, strong interpersonal skills, keen attention to detail, problem-solving aptitude, multitasking capabilities, and ability to prioritize tasks.
    • Experience in engaging with diverse groups of individuals.
    • Availability to work evenings and occasional weekends as scheduled.
    • Commitment to a minimum of 25 hours per week.
    • Possession of a valid New Jersey Driver's License.

    The selected candidate will be subject to a background check.
