- Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
- New grads are required to complete Norman Regional's Nurse Residency Program.

Overview:Compensation / Benefits
Our Med/Surg Observation Unit is a fast paced 16 bed telemetry/medical-surgical unit.Common problems seen in our unit include chest pain, syncope, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, and diabetes.Our nurse patient ratio ranges from 4-6 patients depending on acuity. Our care team includes a charge nurse and unit assistants with support from respiratory, lab, and case management departments. We orient new nurses to our unit by providing a 6-8week orientation program with a dedicated preceptor team, complemented by classroom courses, and a nurse residency program for new graduates.
