Overview


Maintains clinical practice while assessing the educational needs of the providers of maternal-child health care throughout the region, and developing programs and services to meet those needs.

Facilitates positive relationships with providers, and represents their perspective when collaborating with DHMC personnel on committees and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provides consultation to staff nurses and/or others utilizing and representing regional and national standards of care and practice. Provides consultation to nursing management and others concerning methods to improve the quality of care, including changes in documentation, systems of care delivery, and identified learning needs.
  • Develops nursing policies, procedures, standards of care and standards of practice to meet identified needs in the region.
  • Provides clinical review of nursing care to mothers, infants and/or children in community hospitals of the region.
  • Promotes continuity of maternalchild health care between D-HC and hospitals of the region through education and consultation services.
  • Assists in training for resuscitation/stabilization care of women, infants and children while in community hospitals.
  • Develops community hospital based programs and services to meet identified learning needs.
  • Coordinates with and participates in educational programs to meet identified needs of the region's nurses, physicians and ancillary providers of maternalchild health care.
  • Participates as an active member of the nursing department/division through participation in selected meetings, committees, and/or task forces.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Nursing Program required.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) with 2 years of clinical experience required.
  • Certification in an appropriate specialty area preferred.
  • Experience in adult education activities desired.
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Previous experience in both a community hospital and tertiary care setting preferred.
  • PALS and/or NRP Instructor certification strongly preferred.

Required Licensure/Certifications

  • Licensed Registered Nurse with NH eligibility
