    Position: Director – Emergency Department, Registered Nurse

    Hospital/HealthSystem: Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital

    Address: 23845 McBean Pkwy, Valencia, CA 91355

    Facility Selling Points:

    Department Details:

    • Emergency Department – Level 2 Trauma
    • 45-50 beds within the dept. | 1:4 nurse/patient ratio
    • Capabilities to care for patients w/ bleeding wounds, breathing difficulties, chest pains, heart attacks, strokes, trauma, severe pain levels, epileptic/seizures

    Role Responsibilities:

    Responsible for the 24 hour day-to- day operation and management of all assigned clinical areas including the supervision and leadership of management and staff personnel and the management of fiscal and material resources. Assures areas of responsibility comply with all State and Federal regulations, including Title 22 and all other regulatory requirements . Functions as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians and other healthcare providers. Assists Senior Leadership with the development and implementation of new programs/projects through budget preparations, project specifications, capital investment, pricing and marketing strategies.

    Pay Details:

    • Sign-on bonuses offered to eligible RNs
    • Starting Pay Scale, $64/hour or $133k/year – goes up based on experience (Exempt)
    • Unionized with California Nursing Association – Pay Scale based on number of years of experience
    • Shift differential, $2.75-$4.50/hour (evenings & nights)
    • Tuition Reimbursement offered

    Shift/Hours:

    • Night Shifts
    • Rotating Holidays
    • Every other weekend

    Qualifications:

    • CA RN License – will accept temporary CA RN license (must already be in the process of also obtaining State License)
    • BLS, ACLS, PALS, MAB certifications (ANCC preferred)
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in Clinical Management/Healthcare Administration
    • Emergency Dept./Critical Care/Trauma Care experience (preferred)
    • BSN required(MSN preferred or Master's in related field)

    Skills Required:


    • State and Federal regulations, including Title 22 and all other regulatory requirements.


    • Effective oral and written communication skills; budgeting principles and procedures; analytical skills and system analysis.


    • Knowledge of supervisory theories, principles, practices, techniques and methods.


    • Ability to manage staff and change through collaborative and positive leadership skills.


    • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members, hospital staff, physicians and patients.


    • Demonstrated ability in interpersonal relationships which enhances communication, promotes conflict resolution, and facilitates staff development.


    • Skill and knowledge to sustain and evaluate clinical competence for the specific age and type of patient population served.
