- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide evidence based speech and language therapy interventions, exercises, and strategies to improve students' communication, articulation, fluency, and language skills.
- Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and other members of the school-based team to create and implement strategies that support students' participation in the classroom and social activities.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Offer guidance and education to parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to enhance students' communication skills and facilitate carryover into the classroom.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records, including session notes, progress reports, and billing documentation.
- Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and techniques in speech language pathology.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, team meetings, and school based professional development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and ethical standards governing speech-language pathology services in schools.
- Master's degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Maryland state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
- Experience in pediatric or school based speech language pathology is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, educators, and support staff.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
