Insight Global is seeking a Controller for a Cybersecurity Company based in Annapolis, MD. This controller will oversee the client's contract management and administration activities, with a primary focus on government agencies.You will be responsible for managing contract lifecycles, ensuring compliance with regulatory lead the financial management and reporting functions for the company.
In this role, you will also be responsible for overseeing budget, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting activates while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and regulatory standards.
Core Responsibilities:
Lead the financial planning and analysis process, including the development of annual operating budgets, long range forecasts, and strategic financial plans, in collaboration with the executive team and department heads.
Manage financial reporting activities, including the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with government contracting regulations, including Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)Oversee project cost accounting and reporting, including tracking project costs, analyzing variances, and ensuring accurate and timely invoicing to government agencies and prime contractors.
Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets, mitigate risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Conduct financial analysis and performance measurement activities to support decision making and strategic initiatives, including pricing strategies, investment evaluations and profitability analysis.
Coordinate and support internal and external audit, reviews, and compliance assessments, ensuring timely responses to audit inquiries and resolution of findings.
Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, providing guidance, mentoring and professional development opportunities to team members.Collaborate with the CFO to support daily business operations and other activities involving the Board of Directors, potential investors, lenders, or other strategic external organizations.

CPA or CMA certification
Experience with M&A
Experience working in a private equity sponsored environment.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
Fluent in the GAAP, the requirements of corporate governance and financial reporting standards.
Strong understanding of government contracting regulations, including DCAA compliance, CAS, and FAR.
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in financial management, with a focus on defense technology, government contracting and defense industries.
Proficiency in financial planning and analysis tools, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and Microsoft Excel; experience with government accounting software (Deltek, ProCas, JAMIS, Unanet or others) preferred.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data, perform variance analysis, and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
Strong leadership and management abilities, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams in a dynamic environment.
Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Detail-oriented mindset, with a focus on accuracy, integrity and compliance in financial operations and reporting.
