    Corporate Controller

    The Corporate Controller plays a crucial role in the Finance and Accounting department at PCS Software. As a key leader, the Corporate Controller is responsible for guiding a skilled team to produce precise financial outcomes, ensure operational excellence, and establish a versatile cross-functional platform to support the ongoing growth of PCS Software.


    Reporting directly to the CFO, who operates from the Houston, Texas headquarters, we are seeking candidates with exceptional accounting management abilities and exposure to FP&A, offering a chance to advance as a Corporate Controller. This role is ideal for individuals with strong technical expertise and experience leading small teams, ranging from junior to mid-level Corporate Controllers, Junior Controllers, or seasoned Senior Accounting Managers seeking career progression.


    The role is based at our west Houston headquarters office and requires on-site presence five days a week, with no remote work option available. Relocation is also not a possibility for this position. Candidates must be able to attend in-person interviews and reside within a daily commutable distance from the Houston, Texas office.

    Job Functions

    • Oversee monthly revenue recognition and reporting processes
    • Supervise accounts payable, receivables, bank reconciliations, payroll accounting, and related activities.
    • Ensure adherence to sales and use tax regulations.
    • Supervise all accounts, ledgers, and reporting mechanisms to ensure compliance with relevant GAAP standards and regulations.
    • Generate timely and accurate monthly financial and management reports with commentary.
    • Manage treasury operations, cash forecasting, banking relationships, customer, and vendor contracts.
    • Participate in monthly and quarterly stakeholder meetings.
    • Support planning, forecasting, and decision-making processes with precise business driver narratives.
    • Oversee annual audit, tax, loan, and compliance activities.
    • Contribute to M&A projects from due diligence to integration phases.
    • Develop and implement automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
    • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members with direct reports ranging from 1-3 individuals.

    Required Skills

    • Demonstrated expertise in accounting with a thorough grasp of GAAP and ASC 606. CPA certification is advantageous.
    • Proficient in system functions, encompassing design and quality control.
    • Skilled in accounting policy and internal control design and execution.
    • Experience in monthly closure and comprehensive general ledger management.
    • Proficient in managing audits, taxes, and other compliance activities.
    • Effective communication abilities across different organizational levels, including investors and board members.
    • Capable of analyzing, forecasting, and projecting business driver trends based on current business momentum and initiatives.
    • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office suite.
    • Prior exposure to NetSuite is beneficial.
    • Previous hands-on experience with Salesforce.com is a bonus.
    • Background in SaaS industry operations

    Essential Qualities

    • Academic background in accounting or finance with a strong emphasis on accounting principles.
    • CPA qualification is preferred
    • MBA or Master's Degree in Accounting is highly desired
    • Progressive accounting and leadership experience of over 10 years, ideally at a corporate level.
    • Prior experience in SaaS/Software industry is a plus.
    • Adept leader and influential figure.
    • Self-motivated, problem solver, and team player.
    • Attentive to details while maintaining a strategic outlook.
    • Focused on efficiency, capable of balancing short-term results with long-term growth strategies.
    • Sound business acumen and communication skills.
    • Thorough understanding of cross-functional operations and a dependable collaborator with leaders outside the Finance realm.
    • Experience in implementing or enhancing financial systems.
    • Proficient in delivering presentations to executives and board members.
    • Additional experience with private-equity backed enterprises is a positive attribute
