    About Indy Paws Veterinary Hospital

    Indy Paws Veterinary Hospital is a family-oriented veterinary practice located in the vibrant Little Flower neighborhood just outside the bustling downtown of Indianapolis. We are thrilled to announce an opening for a full-time doctor to join our dedicated team.

    - Busy general practice with a diverse caseload every day
    - Operating hours from 8:15 am to 5:45 pm, Monday to Friday
    - Opportunity for one or more surgery days weekly, based on interest
    - Close proximity to several local emergency clinics, eliminating the need for on-call duties after hours.
    - Valuable alliance partnership with nearby hospitals for advanced diagnostic procedures and collaboration on complex cases
    - Small, eager-to-learn staff allows you to focus solely on being a Veterinarian
    - Clinic renovation in early 2018 upgraded with a sterile surgical suite equipped with CO2 laser, treatment/prep area, a dog ward separated from the cat area, updated break and laundry rooms. Future building updates planned in the coming years
    - Practice high-quality medicine using our advanced in-house Idexx laboratory, Digital Radiology, Ultrasound with real-time training, and a fully stocked pharmacy.
    - Utilization of eVet cloud-based practice management and online pharmacy in partnership with Vets First Choice

    Job Description

    The ideal candidate we are seeking is a self-motivated, energetic Doctor with exceptional communication skills dedicated to establishing enduring relationships with our team, clients, and the community.

    At Indy Paws, our mission is to deliver unwavering, high-quality, progressive, and personalized veterinary care for our beloved patients. We offer flexible scheduling to support an excellent work-life balance. Full-time veterinarians will benefit from a comprehensive package including a guaranteed salary with production-based commission, health, vision, dental, and life insurance, association dues, 401k with company match, CE allowance, vacation pay, and clothing allowance. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

    Qualifications

    - Doctor of Veterinary degree from an accredited university
    - Current DEA License or the ability to obtain upon hire
    - Active Veterinary State License
    - USDA Accreditation or eligibility to obtain upon hire

    Additional Information

    SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS

    - Capacity to work at a computer for extended periods while sitting or standing
    - Comfort and confidence working around various animals including dogs, cats, birds, and reptiles
    - Flexibility to work beyond 40 hours per week when client needs and workload demand. Job may require working weekends, evenings, and holidays
    - Proficient mental capacity for reasoning, mathematics, and language proficiency in English
    - Ability to handle moderate noise levels in the work environment (earplugs available upon request)
    - Physical agility to perform required duties including ambulatory skills, lifting, carrying, and manipulating up to 50 pounds
    - Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity for keyboard use and equipment operation
    - Strong visual abilities including close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
    - Exposure to animal-related hazards and varying substances in the hospital environment
