    As a Certified Sterile Processing Technician, you will ensure safe and efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and distribution of reprocessed instruments and equipment, as well as manage case carts.

    Your main duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Handling equipment, instruments, and chemicals.
    • Monitoring and managing supplies and equipment.
    • Record-keeping.
    • Scanning, sorting, inspecting, and assembling instruments.

    Responsibilities:

    • Performs case pull functions.
    • Determines appropriate case carts for specialized procedures.
    • Builds case carts while adhering to procedures.
    • Dispatches case carts for surgical/clinical procedures.
    • Handles record-keeping functions, such as processing, sterilization, and quality assurance.
    • Manages ordering, stocking, and inventory control.
    • Maintains supplies and participates in in-service education.
    • Other assigned duties.

    Education:

    HS diploma or equivalent GED required.

    Certifications:

    Sterile Processing Distribution certification (CRCST) by IAHCSMM or CBSPD required.

    Complexity of Work:

    Within the job scope, necessitates critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently.

    Must function effectively in a high-pressure environment.

    Work Experience:

    Preferably one year experience in central service/sterile processing areas with certification from a recognized training program.

    Physical Requirements:

    Capable of lifting and carrying items up to 25 pounds and handling supply carts over 75 pounds.

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    Adheres to standard precautions using necessary protective equipment.
