- Ensures that the facility's equipment and machines are maintained properly and working correctly.
- Oversees the facility's maintenance program; identifies and analyzes equipment or machinery failures and takes corrective actions.
- Provides technical training to management and other team members.
- Coordinates work performed by outside contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants.
- Conducts research and development investigations to improve existing and new fabrications and proceedures.
- Investigates and tests to improve existing or new welding equipment, develop new or modify current welding methods , techniques or proceedures.
- Develop and implement prevenitive maintenance programs for the machines.
- Directs and coordinates technical personel in performing inspections to insure worker compliance with established procedures.
- Contacts other engineering personel to exchange ideas , exchange ideas or offer technical advice concerning maintenance matters.
- Bachlors degree with a specialisation in Welding, Mechanical, Industrial or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years experience as an Welding Engineer in an industrial/manufacturing environment
- Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Certification in a Welding standard such as ASME BPVE VIII or ASME/AWS-CWI or ASME CWI/E helpful but not required.
