    JOB SUMMARY
    Are you deeply curious about how Talent Analytics is driving the future of work? Do you enjoy data modeling, designing ETLs, and interpreting complex, detailed data? Do you focus on driving decisions through simple applications as opposed to just building dashboards and reports?


    Marriott, the world's largest hotel company, is seeking someone like you to help enhance its Talent Analytics capabilities, specifically in the payroll analytics space.

    This role is part of a highly visible team that is tasked with putting the tools in the hands of the leaders defining the future of Marriott.

    This role will also be instrumental in executing Marriott's multi-year payroll analytics transformation plan, and as such will be required to assist with organizing, understanding, and ultimately architecting Marriott's payroll data.

    This role entails business to technical translation, structured creative thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on development of a custom payroll data solution, including: ETL design, data modeling, RPD development, analytics products, dashboards, and web applications.


    CANDIDATE PROFILE

    Education and Experience

    • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, or Math or other quantitative discipline AND 5 years of relevant professional experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance OR Advanced degree in operations research, applied mathematics, statistics, economics, physics, business analytics, engineering, AND 2 years of relevant professional experience.
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience gathering & transforming raw data, data modeling, and ETL design required. A strong preference for experience with payroll data.
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience using SQL to create data models and database views, must be an expert.
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience with data analysis required, including: Querying, manipulation, transformation, and transfer of data, large data volumes (1B records), and consolidating multiple, disjointed data sets
    • Experience with Oracle Analytics tools and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure a strong plus: Oracle Analytics Model Administration Tool, Oracle Semantic Data Modeler, Oracle APEX , Oracle Analytics Cloud Data Visualization
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience building custom analytics products/applications.
    • Experience or knowledge in UI/UX design, front end web development, HTML and CSS a strong plus.
    • Familiarity with a data manipulation programming language: "pandas" in Python, R, or SAS is a strong plus
    • Familiarity with programming a data retrieval process using APIs
    • Excellent project management and verbal and written communication skills required, especially in the context of managing processes and delivering technical analysis across diverse stakeholder set and independently managing multiple projects

    CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

    Architect and Model Payroll Data

    • In partnership with Global Technology (IT), design new ETL from HCM system to Oracle DW.
    • Conceptualize, design and build data models and materialized views for use by all payroll reporting and analytics stakeholders
    • Create and execute testing plan, to ensure data models are accurate.
    • Adapt to use a variety of tools to accomplish key tasks - data tool "agnostic"
    • Transform multiple, complex data sources using python
    • Help define technical standards and calculations for talent analytics and reporting
    • Conduct root cause analysis for data discrepancies between environments
    • Develop enhancements consistent with the analytics best practices & guidelines.

    Delivering on the Needs of Key Stakeholders

    • Partners with payroll stakeholders to support their data efforts through a variety of avenues: advanced analytics, detail reports, custom applications, strategic analysis, tracking performance vs. goals, and providing recommendations and insights for future efforts
    • Explain complex analytics to a broad audience with varying levels of technical background and understanding.
    • Communicate effectively with Payroll stakeholders & subject matter experts
    • Solves business problems using data and analytically based solutions.
    • Identifies creative solutions to complex and challenging analytical problems.
    • Provides technical expertise and support to persons inside and outside of the department.
    • Consults with Global Technology on support for effective integrations between systems.
    • Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
    • Determines priorities, schedules, plans and necessary resources to ensure completion of any projects on schedule.
    • Collaborates with internal partners and stakeholders to support business/initiative strategies.
    • Communicates concepts in a clear and persuasive manner that is easy to understand.
    • Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.
    • Demonstrates an understanding of business priorities.

    California Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038.00 to $209,169.00 annually.


    Colorado Applicants Only :
    The salary range for this position is $96,038.00 to $190,154.00 annually.


    Hawaii Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $116,205.00 to $209,169.00 annually.


    New York Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038.00 to $209,169.00 annually.


    Washington Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $96,038.00 to $209,169.00 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus. Employees will accrue PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
