As part of the Product Test and Compliance Department, the Software Product Test Group is responsible for testing Campbell Scientific software products.
Product Test and Compliance Department team members work together to ensure Campbell Scientific customers receive software and hardware products that are of high quality and fit for purpose.

Campbell Scientific is currently looking for a Product Test Engineer to fill a software testing roll within our aviation weather portfolio team.
This role will initially be aligned with our Campbell Aero aviation weather software which allows airports across the world to fulfill their primary objectives of ensuring passenger safety, optimizing operations, and increasing capacity.
You will help ensure that Campbell Aero is compliant with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and World Meteorological Organization (WMO) standards.

What You'll Work On
As a Product Test Engineer, you will be part of a team that validates software and hardware product performance and quality.
The role of a Product Test Engineer in the Software Product Test Group is to find, characterize, and report software product issues and refine the test process.
Specifically, your first assignment will be to help deliver our extensive backlog of NEO projects. You will be an active member of the NEO development team responsible for testing new features and reporting issues.You Will Support Your Team by Performing the Following Key Tasks:
Collaborate with software product development teams and other product stakeholders
Participate in software product design reviews by providing input on requirements, design, and testability
Create and execute test plans
Develop manual and automated tests
Document test cases
Analyze defects discovered during testing and reported by customers
Document and report test results
Track defects to resolution and be the customer advocate
Validate defect fixes
Maintain test equipment and software
Develop best practices and improve testing procedures to insure software product performance, reliability, scalability, and overall quality
Support the technical writing staff in the creation of user manuals, application notes, case studies, and educational materials
What We're Looking For
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferred
Must be passionate about testing and problem solving, analytical, a critical thinker, and attentive to detail
Computer and associated software skills, including Microsoft 365 (Teams, Word, Excel...)
Ability to identify user experience failures and provide solutions to improve the user experience
Ability to ensure the software created or modified is fit for purpose and meets product objectives
Working knowledge of computer programming and scripting languages (proficiency with JavaScript, Python, PHP, or Visual Basic preferred)
Working knowledge of the software testing processes and the software testing lifecycle
Experience testing mobile, desktop, and cloud-based applications
Experience using test automation software (proficiency with TestComplete, Selenium, Appium, or WebdriverIO preferred)
Experience using bug tracking systems (proficiency with Jira preferred)
Experience with test management software (proficiency with Zephyr Scale preferred)
Experience working in an Agile software development environment (proficiency with Scrum and Kanban frameworks preferred)
Experience with internet communication protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, HTTPS, WebSockets, FTP, SMTP, MQTT, and other internet protocols
Experience with web browser developer tools (F12)
Work Environment
This is an office environment where 90% or more of the time will be spent on a personal computer. Periodic travel may be required.
Physical Requirements
Sitting for extending periods. Standing, bending, and twisting consistent with normal business operations in an office setting. Use of desktop PC for extended periods during a standard workday. Handling of electronic equipment such as data loggers and wiring of sensors and peripheral devices will be required.
