- Process a large volume of transactions (invoices and credits) received via mail or e-mail
- Maintain accounts payable shared mailbox (responding and filing in a timely manner)
- Process cash disbursements (payments) on a regular basis to meet payment terms
- Update key metrics and meet key metrics goals, as established for the position
- Ensure Procedure to Pay processes are followed
- Invoices are properly authorized with a Purchase Order or Approved Expense flow
- Approval signatures are as prescribed in the Delegation of Authority (DOA), when PO is absent
- Verify GL coding is correct
- Maintain accurate cash disbursement types (check, credit card, wire, ACH) by vendor
- Ensure available discounts are taken
- Maintain AP check positive pay bank exceptions
- Maintain self-assessed sales and use tax invoices for TN and provide to GL team
- Maintain Open Receipts Not Vouchered to less than 90 days
- Review and approve expenses in travel system
- Accountable for overall health of the supplier relationship as it pertains to payment and reconciling statements of account
- Work with Accounting Manager – Functional Operations to ensure cash management and forecasting requirements are met
- Provide expense invoices to Accounting team for month-end accruals
- Run and save month-end AP Aging, Open Receipts, and other reports for compliance purposes
- Participate in system updates and improvements
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years accounts payable experience
- Demonstrated high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient keyboarding / typing skills, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Adaptability to learning new tasks.
- Must have effective and professional written and oral communication skills
- Experience with AS400/PRMS platform a plus
- Experience with system conversion a plus
- Manufacturing experience a plus
- Experience in lean environment a plus
