South College is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting and Finance team. Our ideal candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment, have strong attention to detail, and work well with a team.

Below is a list of key responsibilities:

Perform month-end close functions, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and other reporting schedules. This role has visibility and exposure to many aspects of the month-end close process.
Ensure accurate recording and analysis of monthly revenues and expenses.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and revenue from the ledger to the sub-ledger.
Evaluate current processes and procedures and recommend changes.
Perform other duties and support other staff as needed.
Assist with the annual external audit, including the preparation of audit schedules and documentation.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college, preferably in Accounting or Finance or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relatable work experience.

Experience: Minimum 3+ years of accounting or finance related experience

CPA preferred, but not required

Excellent skills in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups) and Word preferred

Strong understanding of GAAP and experience with general ledger accounting
