    Description

    Our client is currently seeking a Senior Federal Tax Analyst to join their finance team and play a key role in managing our federal tax compliance and planning activities.

    Senior Federal Tax Analyst Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and review federal income tax returns, extensions, estimates, and other related filings in compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
    • Conduct tax research and analysis on various federal tax issues, including tax law changes, IRS regulations, and court rulings, to support tax planning initiatives and ensure compliance.
    • Assist with the development and implementation of tax planning strategies to minimize the company's federal tax liabilities and maximize tax savings opportunities.
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, accounting, legal, and operations teams, to provide tax support and guidance on business transactions, projects, and initiatives.
    • Manage and respond to inquiries and requests from tax authorities, including IRS audits and notices, and coordinate with external advisors as needed.
    • Assist with the preparation and review of the federal tax provision for financial statement purposes, including deferred taxes, uncertain tax positions, and other tax-related disclosures.
    • Support the tax technology initiatives and leverage tax software tools to streamline tax processes, improve efficiency, and enhance accuracy in tax compliance and reporting activities.
    • Stay abreast of changes in federal tax laws, regulations, and industry trends, and communicate updates and implications to internal stakeholders as needed.

    Senior Federal Tax Analyst Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree (e.g., MST) preferred.
    • 5+ years of experience in federal tax compliance and planning, preferably in a corporate tax department or public accounting firm.
    • Strong knowledge of federal tax laws, regulations, and principles, including experience with consolidated returns, tax accounting methods, and international tax concepts.
    • Proficiency in tax software Microsoft Excel, and ERP systems.
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills, with a detail-oriented approach to work.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
