Job Description

The Corporate Communications Manager is an experienced marketing and communications professional who develops and implements Marshall Health Network's corporate marketing strategies and communications programs.

Guided by the MHN Mission and Values, the corporate communications manager

promotes clarity, confidence and consistency

to ensure "one voice" that engages and

connects

all stakeholders

to the MHN brand.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops, executes and guides plans that positively position the organization to stakeholders

Inspires thought leadership:

C
learly articulates complex issues and formulates recommendations that support communication strategies.
Serves as team project manager to coordinate people and processes. Serves as the initial intake of projects and vets to ensure requests align with MHN mission, vision, strategies. Monitors progress to ensure deliverables achieve desired results and communicates with stakeholders.
Outstanding relationship and consensus builder.
Researches, writes, develops messages, and pitches news stories and announcements. Serves as support and back up to digital and social media content.
Keeps abreast of industry and competitive trends. Benchmarks best practices and seeks to improve and refine processes to evolve with our growing system.

Reports to:
Chief Strategy Officer, Marshall Health Network
P rovides leadership to the department in the absence of the chief strategy officer
Requirements

Education:
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations or related field required. Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

A minimum of ten years of public relations and/or corporate communications and project management experience, preferably in a health care setting.

An accomplished storyteller with proven communication skills and strong written, oral and digital communications. Superb writing skills are essential.

News media or media relations experience, crisis communication skills, strategic thinking skills and strong knowledge of communication and public relations practices, methods and strategies.

Ability to work collaboratively and communicate with coworkers at all levels across the continuum.
Creative and thoughtful of how new media technologies can be utilized.
Motivated, organized, proactive and able to deliver in a high-standards environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to push/pull light objects less than 20 pounds; perform simple manipulative skills such as writing, collating, and grasping objects; perform tasks that require eye-hand coordination such as operating computers and keyboarding skills; perform gross motor coordination such as reaching, turning, and moving about; be mobile and move from one place to another; hearing normal sounds with some background noise; hearing normal sounds with some background noise, perform moderately difficult manipulative skills; see objects closely.
