    Our Mission, Vision, and Values guide the way we do business. We are actively searching for 2024 Summer Interns, starting in June 2024.Positions are located in San Diego, CA.

    We're seeking college technical interns focused on software engineering disciplines to join a team of varying functional engineers (e.g. systems, electrical, software, manufacturing, and test engineers) addressing emerging challenges in space sensor technologies.

    The candidate will be assigned tasks relevant to space sensor development that will help apply lessons taught in university to practical, real-world applications, which may lead to a full-time employment opportunity upon graduation.

    Primary Responsibilities

    As a software engineer intern, you will:
    Be part of an integrated development team.

    Develop code for embedded processors, single-board computers, and FPGAs.

    Develop unit tests.

    Develop documentation on software architecture and functions.

    Develop computer simulations using SolidWorks, Simulink, etc.

    Develop and program user interfaces (UI)

    Basic Qualifications
    Pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or computer engineering.

    Must be rising senior class level, graduating 2025, with a minimum 3.3 GPA.

    Must be experienced and understand C, C++, Java, MatLab, Python, VHDL, and/or JSON

    Understanding of software unit testing and development of use cases.

    Understanding of the full Software Development Lifecycle.

    Understanding of Open Systems Interconnection OSI model.

    Understanding of low level, communications including LVDS, RS422, Ethernet (UDP, TCP I/P)

    US citizenship is required, as well aseligibility to obtain a DoD security clearance.

    Preferred Qualifications
    Understanding of Algorithm development.

    Embedded experience developing firmware for OSI Layer 1 – Physical Layer.

    Current security clearance.

    Pay Range:
    Pay Range $44, $81,075.00


    The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.

    Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
