PARK MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT - BAY ARE DISTRICT / SONOMA STATE HISTORIC PARK
The reporting location for this position is the Sonoma Maintenance Shop, located at 363 3rd Street West, Sonoma, CA This position will work under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Supervisor.
The Park Maintenance Assistant will do routine cleanup and unskilled maintenance; performs various housekeeping, grounds keeping and minor maintenance tasks; answers routine questions from the public as necessary; completes miscellaneous reports; leads and trains less experienced maintenance personnel in housekeeping and minor grounds work.
This position is currently eligible for a Recruitment and Retention pay differential for the Greater Bay Area.
This pay differential is five percent (5%) of the base pay for each qualifying pay period and is in addition to the posted monthly salary range.
The incumbent's work schedule will be Wednesday to Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.This position is designated as not telework eligible.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

Working Conditions
- Typical work activities involve frequent periods of bending, stooping, and lifting.
- Perform indoor and outdoor work often in inclement weather.
- May have extensive exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
- May work in remote locations
- Frequent walking on even and uneven terrain
- Works from elevated surfaces such as from ladders and scaffolding
- May be required to work in confined spaces.
