    LOWNDES COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT

    TITLE: BOARD CERTIFIED BEHAVIOR ANALYST (BCBA)

    REPORTS TO: Director of Special Services

    LENGTHOFCONTRACT:187 Days
    SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Provides behavior analysis services and behavior management plans for special education students. Provides support and professional learning to school staff in appropriate behavior intervention techniques. Conducts assessments and develops plans that conform to IDEA. Provides ongoing behavior related training to school staff and parents on, proactive behavior intervention strategies, de-escalation techniques, and ABA principles as a means of early intervention. They will provide key guidance for school personnel as it relates to data tracking and progress monitoring of identified student behavior.

    SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Establishes rapport and works in a constructive, positive manner with staff and students.
    2. Maintains a knowledge of best practices and laws governing behavioral supports for students with disabilities.
    3. Provides BCBA services for IDEA eligible students as assigned.
    4. Develops training materials for and provide professional learning to administrators, educators, and aides in ABA-based strategies, and/or other evidence-based methodologies related to addressing the needs of students with behavioral challenges.
    5. Plans and assists in the implementation of programs, policies, and best practices related to instruction using the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis and other methodologies.
    6. Creates and assists staff with the development of Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) for individual students as assigned.
    7. Administers and/or trains staff on the administration of behavior related assessments, including FBA's and BIP's.
    8. Designs and assists staff with data collection, review data, and recommend modifications to BIP's as needed.
    9. Confers with members of the IEP team and district staff, individually, in an IEP meeting, or in a conference, to discuss and evaluate student performance for planning, modifying, and coordination of individual programs.
    10. Works with and assists staff with students who exhibit inappropriate behaviors by providing specific support, professional development, and training on the implementation of individual BIP's.
    11. Collects data and prepares a variety of reports for the purpose of documentation, assessments, and progress monitoring.
    12. Performs other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Director of Special Services.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Minimum of a Master's Degree in Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Psychology, or other related field.

    Current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst through the BACB.

    Must maintain credentialing in compliance with the BACB.

    DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

    BCBA experience in a school setting.

    Classroom teaching experience, special education preferred.

    Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
