- Implement, conduct and continuously improve SHS education, knowledge and performance at branches within the assigned geographic area, including, Smith System defensive driving training, weekly SHS training, annual internal audits, incident investigations and reporting, field level behavior based worker observations and coaching (BBO's) and other tasks as requested by supervisor.
- Support Area operations and office personnel in implementing and complying with SHS programs.
- Establish regular visit schedules for all branches in the assigned geographic area.
- Conduct annual internal SHS audits and ensure follow up and corrective actions are completed.
- Assist Badger Occupational Health and Leave team in worker illness, injury, first aid, worker compensation claims, return to work and other applicable employee health matter as requested.
- Assist in incident and accident investigations, both internal and external, including root cause review, preparation of reports; incident summaries and management follow up.
- Prepare weekly activity report and other reports as requested by supervisor or Corporate SHS management.
- Work with Badger operations management, sales and marketing and business development as needed in providing HSE support and presence with current and potential clients.
- 5+ years' experience preferred in the following Industries
- Vacuum; Pump Trucks
- Construction
- Utilities
- Oil and Gas
- Waste collection
- Equipment rentals
- Knowledge of federal, state, local and provincial health, safety and environmental regulations
- Strong people skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Minimum 2 years college/university; 4 years preferred
- Health and Safety certifications or ability to obtain
- Hands-on field operations experience
- Proficient computer skills, e.g. WORD, Excel, PDF
- Passionate, dedicated and self-directed SHS professional
- Travel required: 75-80%
- High level of integrity
- Must have and maintain clean driver's license

Badger Daylighting, and its parent company Badger Infrastructure Solutions Ltd. (TSX:BDGI), is North America's largest provider of non-destructive excavating services. We work for contractors and facility owners in a broad range of infrastructure industries, including energy generation, electricity and natural gas transmission networks, roads and highways, telecommunications, water and sewage treatment and general municipal infrastructure.
Our key technology is the Badger HydrovacTM, which is used primarily for safe excavation around critical infrastructure and in congested underground conditions. The Badger Hydrovac uses a pressurized water stream to liquefy the soil cover, which is then removed with a powerful vacuum system and deposited into a storage tank. Badger manufactures and designs our truck-mounted hydrovac units, giving us the opportunity to incorporate feedback from our hydrovac operators into existing and future design and manufacturing processes.
