- Assist in the line operation of extrusion equipment used to produce pipe aligned with Ipex's procedures and protocols.
- Notify Supervisor and/or Lead Hands of any non-conformance or unknown conditions and facilitate corrective actions as needed.
- Perform quality checks using micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.
- Package pipe in accurate pallet sizes and quantities and document production; identify, transfer, and load material for production.
- Use basic hand tools and operate a forklift.
- Identify, remove and report scrap in compliance with work instructions.
- Support and stay in sync with the efforts of the Joint, Health & Safety Committee (JHSC); maintain acceptable housekeeping, environmental and safe working conditions. Inspect and report potential unsafe or hazardous conditions.
- Exhibit a working understanding of extruders and associated equipment such as hoppers and material loaders, extruder vacuum systems, regrind loaders and carbon black feeders.
- A high school degree or equivalent is required with the ability to read, write and do basic math. Must be knowledgeable in imperial and metric measurement systems.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred; plastics experience is an asset.
- Experience operating a forklift and comfortable using hand tools
- Detail oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be a self-starter with good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills coupled with an eagerness to learn.
- Good teammate including with a demonstrated ability to contribute to and cultivate a positive team environment
- Must be able to work 12-hour continental shifts (4 days on, 4 days off OR 4 nights on, 4 nights off) 84 hours bi-weekly; 7:00 – 7:00.
- Requires good mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, bending, and lifting in excess of 50 lbs.

Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic individual with a keen eye to detail and a positive demeanor. The successful candidate will build required boards / skids for use in the Extrusion Department, operate and run machinery using related to equipment for the purposes of pipe production. The Utility Operator will conduct these activities while ensuring a maximum focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.
