    JOB SUMMARY

    The Diesel Fleet Weekend Supervisor performs a variety of preventative maintenance tasks and repairs on company assets, diagnoses issues and oversees the work of lower-level mechanic staff. This position develops schedules, conducts inventory counts, schedules, performs and maintains inspection records and administers the parts inventory.

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when and where required.
    2. Is available for shifts scheduled Saturday, Sunday, Monday 8am- 8pm.
    3. Perform a variety of preventative maintenance tasks and repairs on company assets.
    4. Develop schedules for performing assigned duties.
    5. Exercise direct and indirect oversight of lower-level mechanic staff.
    6. Prioritize, monitor and complete mechanical repairs to vehicles and equipment.
    7. Ensure safe work practices, work quality and accuracy.
    8. Comply with applicable safety policies and department procedures.
    9. Monitor compliance with the preventative maintenance program for vehicles.
    10. Perform or assist with the more difficult duties of the work unit, including complex mechanical equipment diagnosis and repair.
    11. Diagnose issues in semi-trucks and tractor-trailers to meet the standards set
    12. forth by the Department of Transportation (DOT).
    13. Maintain appropriate work records and documents, which may include inspections, repairs, maintenance schedules and purchases.
    14. Train assigned personnel.
    15. Schedule, perform and maintain inspections records.
    16. Oversee the removal of hazardous waste and recycling materials.
    17. Immediately report any unsafe practices or safety violations and make corrections.
    18. Other duties as assigned.
    REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
    • High school diploma or its equivalent
    • At least three years of experience performing diesel engine maintenance and repairs
    • At least six months of supervisory experience
    • Ability to work with minimal oversight or supervision
    • Demonstrated leadership skills
    • Time management skills
    • Ability to work scheduled shifts on holidays
    • Must have own tools
    • Must possess or be able to obtain a DOT inspection license
    • Working knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical and ABS systems
    • Reliable transportation
    PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
    • Knowledge of air brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and ABS brake systems
    • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)
    • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL)
    • Completion of an accredited two-year technical program
    • Welding or fabrication experience
    REQUIRED LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
    • Valid Class C driver's license
    • Safe driving record for the past three years
    Saturday- Tues 8am-8pm
    SAT - MON
    8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
