    **Description**

    **Audit purchase requisitions.**

    Prioritize requisitions according to workload and delivery requirements.

    Group orders to save on shipping and P.O. usage.

    Assign purchase order numbers.

    **Analyze, negotiate and place orders for equipment, products and services.**

    Analyze existing and new requests for equipment and supplies and determine acceptable items for purchase.

    Make recommendations for standardization.

    Discuss products, equipment, services, contracts and negotiations with sales and service personnel.

    Prepare, submit and review bids for products and services and prepare cost analyses.

    Review and select supplier.

    Place orders via computer, telephone, fax or mail.

    **Monitor orders for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.**

    Monitor orders for accuracy based on contracts and requisitions.

    Request delivery status and ensure that program and order deadlines are met.

    Resolve claim and invoice discrepancies.

    Process returns and credit requests.

    **Requirements**:

    Three years experience as a buyer, preferably in a health care setting

    Excellent communication skills
