- Takes the finalized customer demand planning forecast and rolls it into a category view and reconciles the business plan vs customer demand plan to finalize the overall business unit numbers that get approved by the Operations, Sales, Finance and Operations Teams.
- Leads and facilitate the monthly demand cycle reporting for the category/categories assigned with the Customer Demand Team.
- Develops strong communication and partnering links with Sales, Customer Demand partners, Supply Planning and other parts of Supply Chain.
- When KPIs are not met, leads the root cause analysis process and escalates the findings to the appropriate teams with recommendations for mitigation from the Business Units/Sales perspective.
- Ensures demand planning systems and tools, including master data are adequately maintained (Data cleanse).
- Validates decisions with replenishment and inventory levels managed through the effective operation of the monthly view.
- Ensures appropriate measures are taken to reduce/eliminate forecasting errors and processes are in developed to minimizing forecast volatility from the targets set by the business unit.
- Analyzes historical sales performance, assessing the impact of various sales and marketing plans such as new product introductions; price increases or decreases; product withdrawal, obsolescence, promotions and incentives with the demand plan modified accordingly.
- Documents the forecasting process, maintains - including assumptions and clearly identifying how the forecast is prepared, reviewed and approved and who is involved.
- Conducts Internal and external benchmarking to identifying best practice initiatives and sharing the experiences with the Asia Pacific regions.
- Ensures the accuracy of data input from the portfolio team and the timely delivery to key stakeholders.
- Facilitates communications between demand and supply teams to avoid short supply / waste risk.
- Communicates forecasts to Supply teams through timely uploads to the systems and share potential forecasting risks.
- 5+ years of experience in demand or supply chain planning.
- Strong knowledge of demand planning process and vocabulary within Consumer-Packaged Goods Industry
- Demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Knowledge of statistical forecasting processes in sales, marketing operations, finance, manufacturing and supply chain issues
- Familiarity and ability to interpret retailer Point of Sale (POS) data
- Understanding of common demand planning metrics and drivers to improve them
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, engineering, or related field or equivalent work-related experience is required.
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Critical thinking and analytical skills to interpret data and draw actionable insights
- Detail oriented
- Strong mathematical abilities
- APICS or similar certification a plus.
- Experience using ERP statistical software packages
- Knowledge of demand management/forecasting tools
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Tableau
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
- Experience with database applications (Microsoft Access, MS SQL Server, etc.) a plus

SUMMARY:
The Category Demand Planner is responsible for facilitating the creation and management of a forecast for the categories within the framework of the Business Unit function during the standard planning cycle. The role works cross functionally (within Sales, Marketing, Customer Demand Planning) to gather information on actual performance and upcoming activities in order to inform this forecast and make it as robust and accurate as possible. The Category Demand Planner also works with the Replenishment & Supply team to manage demand in the short term to address a potential shortfall / surplus vs demand.
