Overview
DLH is seeking an entry level Data Technician to support a team that conducts data linkages and analyses and reports on findings from clinical-and population-based epidemiological studies on behalf of the federal government.
These studies focus on the impact of the physical and social environment on human health and well-being, as well as genetic, occupational, and lifestyle risk factors.
This position is part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes data managers, analysts, and operations staff. This position offers opportunities for professional development, innovation, and collaboration across disciplines.The Data Technician:
Utilizes R and/or SAS to gather, analyze, and organize data under the guidance of data managers, aiding
stakeholders in making informed decisions.
Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining task lists within and across projects.
- Collaborating with data managers and project managers to adhere to timelines, budgets, and technical plans.
- Assisting data managers with development and execution of data management plans and standard operating procedures.
- Assisting with the development, testing, and maintenance of both data management and study management systems.
- Providing data entry support for ongoing studies.
- Participating in training of staff involved in data collection.
- Supporting the preparations of reports and presentations for internal leadership and clients.
- Maintaining central study files, including training records, study documents, and study data and programs.
- Design and manage databases using R and/or SAS tools.
- Ensure the efficient organization and storage of large datasets.
- Collaborate with IT teams to optimize database performance.
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems.
- Performs additional duties as required
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in public health, social sciences, or related skills required.
Excellent verbal communication and organization skills; ability to follow detailed work instructions; strong problem solving and decision-making skills; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work collaboratively; basic experience using SAS, R, MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Willingness to learn new tools and techniques.Experience:
- Experience managing Survey/Government/Electronic Health Record data.
- Familiarity with statistical programming and data manipulation.
- Knowledge of data management principles and best practices.
- Experience in database management and optimization.
- Basic analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Detailoriented with a focus on data accuracy.
Basic Compensation**:
$45, $55,000.00 yearly salary
