Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Acts as a lead person on a specific refuse collection route

Examples of Duties

UNDER GENERAL SUPERVISION
Checks truck for any damage or needed repairs
Records work performed on trip card and submits to supervisor
Operates a packer truck for collecting refuse and garbage
Insures that all refuse on a specific route is picked up
Notifies immediate supervisor of any problems encountered such as property damage or injuries
Prepares truck for route assignments
Supervises crew members
Performs related work

Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or the equivalent

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess and maintain a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or obtain within three months of employment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
Spends prolonged periods of time sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping and climbing
Lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds in a team setting
Spends prolonged periods of time exposed to the elements
