    Special Education Teacher (High School Resource Position) Location: Near Camden, DE

    School Year: 2024/2025

    Job Description: Our school district is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2024/2025 school year. This position is for a high school resource teacher who will work with students requiring special education services. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to helping students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
    • Provide direct instruction and support to students in a resource room setting.
    • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure students' needs are met.
    • Monitor and document students progress toward IEP goals.
    • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the varying needs and interests of students.
    • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and success.
    • Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with school district policies and state regulations.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field.
    • Valid Delaware teaching certification in Special Education.
      • Those willing to apply or with pending licensure will also be considered
    • Experience working with high school students with diverse learning needs.
    • Strong knowledge of special education laws and best practices.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to create and implement effective and individualized instructional strategies.
    • Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching students with special needs.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Masters degree in Special Education or related field.
    • Experience in a resource room setting.
    • Knowledge of assistive technology and other resources to support student learning.
