    Department Summary

    Strategy, Planning, and Operations leads and manages a large and complex portfolio of IT projects and programs while establishing partnerships and stakeholder engagement efforts with students, faculty, staff, and external partners on behalf of the IT organization. The Strategy, Planning, and Operations Office also manages organizational initiatives and efforts, including general administrative functions, financial management and budgeting, vendor management and licensing, billing, internal communications, department human resources, talent management, and culture development. The Organizational Change Management and Systems Training team manages organizational change by assessing the effects of technological changes on personnel and processes, devising strategies to minimize disturbance, collaborating with stakeholders on change projects such as communications in support of the enterprise project management portfolio, and facilitating the acceptance of change to enhance the value of transformative IT endeavors. Furthermore, organize and execute technology training programs for end-users on various applications and systems.
    Position Summary

    The Senior IT Training Specialist will lead the development, delivery, and coordination of end-user technology training for IT applications and systems to foster smooth transitions for employees during current-to-future state transitions, and will support the development of business process training. The Senior IT Training Specialist will focus on the people impacted by changes to technology, IT systems, technological interfaces, and associated business processes. This Senior IT Training Specialist will partner with project managers to develop and execute integrated training programs; coach executives and team leaders in delivering training within their departments, create and drive strategies for faster and more complete adoption; and identify and manage resistance and risk. The Specialist will be responsible for training content development in a wide range of modalities, performing learning assessments, and working with a broad range of subject matter experts in the build of materials. The Senior IT Training Specialist will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling university stakeholders to effectively adopt improvements and changes to technology and business processes in service of the institution's academic, research, and service mission. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while upholding UCLA's culture and values.
    Salary & Compensation

    *UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common.     Qualifications

  • Five years experience working in one or more of the following fields: training, organizational change management, strategic communications, information technology, or another related field. (Required)
  • Experience determining training objectives, developing training curricula, and executing training programs to large, complex IT organizations and end users. (Required)
  • Experience in identifying key success metrics and reporting on success; ability to mitigate issues and suggest improvements. (Required)
  • Experience delivering customer-focused service. (Required)
  • Experience working in a project-based environment using leading project management practices including schedule management, status reporting, and communication of project risks and issues. (Required)
  • Advanced problem-solving skills; ability to uncover root of difficult problems and scope solutions based on knowledge of available resources and timelines as well as awareness of vision and strategy. (Required)
  • Experience participating in activities to advance an inclusive environment that values equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging. (Required)
  • Seven or more years of experience working in one or more of the following fields: training, organizational change management, strategic communications, information technology, or another related field. (Preferred)
  • Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university. (Preferred)
  • Advanced project consulting and management skills to ensure operations are running smoothly and deadlines can be met effectively. Provides support to improve teaching and learning outcomes. (Required)
  • Advanced knowledge of highly complex training studies and needs analysis to ensure effectiveness of current and new training initiatives. (Required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate complex technical ideas to a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders. Can relay technical information to audiences of technical and non-technical stakeholders. (Required)
  • Able to establish and advance positive working relationships and a strong rapport with a diverse community of colleagues including team members, stakeholders, and customers. (Required)
  • Advanced organizational skills and is able to balance competing priorities and deliver concurrent projects to various stakeholder types. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions with integrity. (Required)
  • Thinks creatively and introduces innovations such as the incorporation of new technologies or processes. Thrives in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment. (Required)
    Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of experience/training in one or more of the following fields: business administration, organization development, communication, or public administration, or related field. (Required)

    Special Conditions for Employment
    • This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that includes regular visits to campus as needed (for those who work remotely, travel/lodging expenses are not eligible for reimbursement). The anticipated pay range for this position is $95,277-$105,171, annually; salary is dependent upon the skills and experience of the selected finalist. NOTE: This position REQUIRES that a RESUME and COVER LETTER be submitted in addition to the application. Please have these two files ready to upload when applying.
    • Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.
    • Live Scan Background Check: A Live Scan background check must be completed prior to the start of employment.
