    YOUR ROLE:

    As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a lead role in our product organization, focusing on the creation, maintenance, and optimization of data pipelines. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate efficient and reliable data collection and processing, ensuring our data architecture supports the evolving needs of our fundraiser management platform. You'll work to deliver new and existing features for our production systems as well as internal data analytics needs. We are seeking Senior Data Engineers who are passionate about building high availability, scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems with emerging technologies.

    This role has the option to be fully remote.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Develop robust, scalable data pipelines that integrate with various data sources and APIs. Ensure the pipelines are optimized for performance and reliability.
    • Implement processes and systems for collecting data from multiple sources, ensuring high data quality and accessibility.
    • Manage and optimize the performance of our data storage solutions, primarily using MySQL, Postgres and Snowflake.
    • Collaborate with data analysts and business teams to provide actionable insights from data, contributing to strategic decisions.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, software engineers, and analysts. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior data engineers.
    • Drive to improve designs, processes, and products by reducing cost and improving efficiency and quality.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Expertise in Python programming, particularly in the context of data engineering (Pandas, NumPy)
    • Proficiency in Snowflake for data warehousing, including performance tuning and optimization
    • Experience with Apache Kafka or other data pipeline and workflow management tools
    • Familiarity with Heap for analytics and for feature flagging and experimentation, aiding in data-driven product development
    • Prior experience authoring technical documentation and requirements
    • Strong knowledge in database design, SQL, and data modeling
    • Proficiency working with AWS or other cloud services
    • Has led a group of engineers to the successful completion of projects
    • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
    • A collaborative, positive attitude and strong sense of ownership
    BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Familiarity with big data technologies like Apache Spark, Hadoop
    • Skills in data visualization tools like Tableau for better data presentation and decision-making support
    • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes for deployment and scaling
    • Basic understanding of machine learning algorithms and their implementation
    • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to streamline deployment
    • Familiarity with some/all of our engineering tools: Gitlab, Atlassian Suite, Datadog
    • Master's degree or further education or experience in engineering, computer science or other technical related field
