    Location: 20633 Center Ridge Road - Rocky River, Ohio 44116

    Job Summary
    The Mortgage Loan Officer supports clients with the origination of residential mortgage loans, offering analysis and advice to current and potential clients on home lending solutions that meet their needs and financial goals. The MLO is responsible for growing Key's home lending business and client base by developing referrals. Achieving or surpassing established sales targets while upholding high levels of client satisfaction and loan quality is crucial.

    Responsibilities:

    • Prospect home lending business to establish new client loan originations and relationships, both internally and externally
    • Originate and process 1-4 family residential real estate mortgage transactions following Home Lending process and product guidelines
    • Collect documents upon registering a loan and act as the primary client contact throughout the loan process
    • Maintain high standards of client satisfaction and quality, ensuring efficient control of sales/originator systems and workflows
    • Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of products, services, competitors, and market trends
    • Stay informed about real estate and mortgage industry trends and developments
    • Build internal and external relationships
    • Perform assigned duties and adapt to new tasks as necessary
    • Adhere to all KeyBank policies and procedures professionally and ethically

    Education Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree in a Business-related field or equivalent experience (preferred)

    Experience Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience as a loan officer in 1st mortgage production (preferred)
    • 3+ years of working knowledge in FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, TIL regulations, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, RESPA regulations, local and state real estate and finance laws (preferred)

    Tactical Skills:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Proficiency in sales, service skills, prospecting, networking, and COI relationship management
    • Solid financial acumen

    Personal Skills:

    • Emotional Intelligence: Understanding emotional intelligence (EI) concepts and its impact on business results

    Practical Skills:

    • Business Acumen: Understanding internal and external clients' business priorities and profitability drivers
    • Oral & Written Communication: Effective listening, probing, and clear communication

    Core Competencies:

    • All KeyBank employees must demonstrate Key's Values and maintain proficiency in identified Leadership Competencies

    Physical Demands:

    • General Office - Prolonged sitting, face-to-face and phone communication, PC/laptop usage, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of up to 10 lbs

    Driving Requirements:

    • Possible need to drive to multiple locations in a day; valid driver's license required

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    This role offers an hourly rate of $15.00 and includes short-term incentive compensation based on individual and company performance.
