    Default job background
    Description
About Checkr Checkr builds people infrastructure for the future of work. And we believe everyone should have a fair chance to work. That's why we've designed a faster-and fairer-way to screen job seekers. Established in 2014 and valued at $5B, Checkr puts modern technology powered by machine learning in the hands of hiring teams, helping thousands of companies like Uber, Instacart, Netflix, Compass Group, and Adecco to hire great new people with an experience that's fast, smooth, and safe.

A career at Checkr means collaborating with brilliant minds, disrupting an industry, and opening channels of employment to often overlooked candidates. Checkr has been recognized as one of BuiltIn's 2023 Best Places to Work in the US and is a Y Combinator 2023 Breakthrough Company and Top Company by Valuation . As the Senior Manager of Data Science & Product Analytics at Checkr, you will manage the team responsible for data science, product analytics, and customer analytics. In addition, you will interface with data organizations in other departments, most frequently the RevOps, CorpEng/BI teams, and finance teams. You will own both internal and customer-facing data use cases, be a thought partner to the business, understand strategic goals, and then use your skills and subject matter expertise to surface impactful insights that drive business decisions.

    What you'll do
    • Manage the Data Science and Product Analytics functions.
    • Create strong partnerships with Product, Engineering, RevOps, BI, finance teams, and more.
    • Partner with product leadership to influence business strategy through data-driven decision-making
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify new growth opportunities, develop data requirements, establish critical metrics, and evangelize data products.
    • Design, deploy, and evaluate experiments that help define opportunities for higher adoption, improved business performance, and better customer experience.
    • Research new technologies and methods across data science and data engineering to improve the technical capabilities of the team.
    • Communicate insights to senior leaders by distilling complex analysis and concepts into concise business-focused takeaways.
    • Foster an action-bias culture for product innovation and delivery, high performance, transparency, and continuous improvement.
    • Build a diverse, equitable, inclusive culture that helps all members feel like they belong.
    • Bring customer centricity to your entire team.
    • Hire, retain, and scale a world-class data science and analytics team.
    What you bring
    • Demonstrated success in building and leading experimentation and growth initiatives
    • Experience with driving successful platform adoption programs, with the ability to demonstrate the business impact of such initiatives
    • Data-driven mindset: you know that everything built must be measured to understand its impact on the business and drive your teams to build with that in mind
    • Customer centricity: you understand that customer behavior and sentiment must be well understood to effectively build products for them; this can be understood both through data as well as qualitative discussions with customers
    • Experience defining and scaling modern products (API, self-service, UX first products)
    • Highly effective communicator with good people instincts - able to build trust and work well with a diverse group both internally and externally
    • Organized, self-motivated and detail-oriented
    • High degree of humility and accountability
    • 5+ years of experience leading, growing, and retaining a high-performance data science and/or product analytics team
    What you'll get
    • A fast-paced and collaborative environment
    • Learning and development allowance
    • Competitive compensation and opportunity for advancement
    • 100% medical, dental, and vision coverage
    • Up to $25K reimbursement for fertility, adoption, and parental planning services
    • Flexible PTO policy
