    Primary Duties

    1. Develops, recommends, coordinates and implements business development programs with the objective to beneficially and sustainably grow market share, sales and revenue.

    2. Monitors, reviews and reports on the execution, progress and effectiveness of plans, programs, initiatives and goals to ensure the achievement of business development objectives.

    3. Maintains appropriate contact and relationships with customers and industry participants to support business development efforts.

    4. Represents the Company in designated professional industry organizations as well as local and state economic development efforts. Monitors industry trends and pertinent regulatory activities, evaluates the potential impact to the Company and recommends actions to support business development efforts.

    5. Oversees development and maintenance of internal processes regarding new services, rates, transactions, communications, and customer interfaces to provide excellent customer service results.

    6. Adheres to risk management processes and controls. Assists in identifying, assessing and mitigating business risk with each business development activity.

    7. Works closely with Operations, Finance, Technical Services, Rates & Regulatory Affairs, and other stakeholders to evaluate operational and economic feasibility of each opportunity.

    8. Participates in negotiations with customers/prospects on new business opportunities, working collaboratively and creatively through the negotiation process to achieve desired results.

    9. Responsible for oversight of business development team. Appropriately staffs, motivates, and develops departmental employees and evaluates performance to ensure company objectives and administration of activities are met.

    10. Develops and monitors functional area budgets to ensure efficient utilization of resources. Plans and directs the achievement of area goals and objectives within established company policies.

    11. Maintains adequate staffing levels to ensure proper administration of activities. Selects, develops, motivates and evaluates the performance of assigned employees.

    12. Leads as a culture champion by promoting our vision, strategy, AtmoSpirit principles, and supporting wellness/safety.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Educational/Experience Level:

    Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field and seven years of experience including five years in a supervisory capacity; or equivalent.

    Communication Skills:

    Requires the ability to communicate, persuade and/or influence internal and/or external customers at a high level such as senior management on matters of a technical and/or complex nature.

    Numeric Skills:

    Requires the ability to perform analyses involving ratios, percentages and statistical methods.

    Computer Skills:

    Requires ability to utilize the Company's database systems and available resources for data entry/reference/retrieval.
    Requires an advanced knowledge of various software applications such as MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.

    Work Conditions:

    Works in an office environment. On occasion makes site visits to customers that may include an outdoor environment. Frequent and overnight travel required.

    Requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
