- Risk Management:
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for loss prevention across the hospital.
- Identify, analyze, and manage potential risks, including general liability and healthcare professional liability claims.
- Oversee incident reporting systems and investigate all reported events.
- Develop and manage risk mitigation plans and action plans.
- Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and ensure compliance in risk management practices.
- Patient Safety:
- Champion a culture of safety and high reliability throughout the hospital.
- Lead patient safety improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis and trend identification.
- Oversee all safety event reports, investigations, analyses, action plans, and follow-up.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership, departments, and staff to implement safety best practices.
- Monitor safety trends and metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop educational programs to promote patient safety awareness among staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Risk Management, or a related field is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in Risk Management, preferably within a healthcare setting.
- 3-5 years of acute care clinical nursing experience is highly desirable.
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Certified in Risk Management (CRM) or Certified Patient Safety Officer (CPSO) is a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and healthcare information systems.
- Passion for patient safety and a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
