The Health Care Technician I (HCT I) is primarily responsible for providing direct care and person centered supports to residents with complex physical, intellectual, medical, and behavioral needs.
Direct Care staff focus on providing services to enhance the quality of life of their residents in a caring home environment with dignity and respect, offering choices and options to support individuality.
Duties include completing Nursing Assistant assignments while maintaining optimal gross/fine motor skills, ensuring activities of daily living (mealtime, dressing, bathing, grooming, etc.) while supporting the highest level of practicable independence, as well as residential units are responsible for active treatment and training in areas of basic needs (bathing, toileting, dressing, self-feeding, personal grooming, dental hygiene, communication), medication administration, money management, home-living, vocational, and leisure/recreational skills.
This position is responsible for ensuring all health and safety needs are met for assigned residents per regulatory guidelines.Staff is responsible for ensuring confidentiality and compliance with the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) in all aspects of communication.
O'Berry NMT Center provides ongoing training and encourages professional development for our employees.Employees may work a rotating, fixed or split shifts, weekends and holidays including inclement weather due to the facility providing services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
