- Assume responsibility for leading an organization of 20+ technical professionals, including three supervisors directly managing chemists and technicians.
- Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence, fostering personal growth and team success.
- Develop and execute strategies for new product development in line with PPG's vision and market needs, focusing on brand protection, efficiency, cost-reduction, and environmental sustainability.
- Present technical and project updates to internal and external stakeholders, and represent PPG at industry conferences and events.
- The key focus of this role is developing and commercializing products. Involving the customer early and often will be critical to the success of PPG and our customers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including research, engineering, marketing, sales, and manufacturing to ensure products are commercially viable to meet customer requirements.
- Stay current with industry trends and regulations to ensure our products maintain their leadership position and compliance.
- Requires a degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience in product development, preferably in the coatings industry.
- Demonstrated experience and the ability to lead teams and manage complex projects.
- Strong understanding of coating technologies, application methods, and industry regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and strategic planning skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and persuasively.

As a leader, you will oversee the development of both internal and external coatings for a diverse range of packaging applications, including beverage cans, food cans, and monobloc cans.
