    THE PORTFOLIO COMPANY

    The portfolio company is building a diversified, additive, and subtractive manufacturing platform focused on high-complexity products with low production volumes for customers in attractive, high-growth end markets.

    The company, headquartered in Livermore, California, is a provider of precision sheet metal fabrication and CNC machining services for prototyping and low volume / high mix production to its blue-chip customer base across advanced end markets, including Homeland Security, Medical, Semiconductor, and Aerospace & Defense. They operate out of a 60,000 sq. ft. facility in Livermore, which is in the heart of Silicon Valley and in close proximity to its key customers

    THE PRIVATE EQUITY FIRM

    The Private Equity firm invests in B2B companies in the industrial and specialty distribution sectors in the lower middle market in North America. They currently have 16 portfolio companies and have experience working in and managing businesses that range from the lower middle market to Fortune 500 companies. They make control equity investments in businesses that can benefit from the hands-on operational expertise they bring to the table. The firm partner and align itself with management teams to execute a customized value-creation program that drives equity value back to their investors as well as management. Their hands-on approach, in-house operational expertise, and friendly and hard-working demeanour of their team differentiate them from competing firms.

    VISION

    What does success look like in this role?

    • Establish a clear and well-defined business strategy, with successful execution of strategic plans
    • In-depth market research conducted for target geographies, selection of geographies based on identified opportunities and risks
    • Penetrate end markets: Identify new markets, customers

    THE ROLE

    The role will see you quickly establishing a network of sales representatives, initially focusing on outside sales reps or third-party representatives.

    KEY SELLING POINTS OF THE ROLE

    • Enormous cross-selling opportunities within the customer base of the business.
    • Significant potential for organic growth.

    KEY CHALLENGES FOR THE ROLE

    • No handover from the original incumbents in the positions,.
    • Immediate need to get up to speed with the responsibilities and intricacies of the roles

    YOUR BACKGROUND

    The successful individual will be able to demonstrate experience in the following;

    Must-Have:

    • Experience in one or more of the following: Photonics, Robotics, Optics, Medical, Aerospace & Defense.
    • Account management expertise.
    • Strong machining experience, understanding materials specific to the markets.
    • Ability to prospect, conduct market research, prepare detailed RFQs, and deliver sales presentations. Must be willing to travel.
    • Must have experience selling into Aerospace & Defense, Precision Machine Component experience and Metal Fabrication experience.

    Nice to Have:

    • Cross-selling synergy execution.
    • Experience with additive or subtractive manufacturing.
    • Bring commercial "best practices" to the team.
    • Contract review experience.
    • Buy & Build experience, including the integration of add-ons.
    • PE experience.

    LOCATION

    Hybrid, travel is essential.

    COMPENSATION PACKAGE

    Basic Salary: $100,000 - $135,000

    Bonus Package: 50%
