- Assisting & advising first line stakeholders with the integration of the Enterprise Risk management practices into business model and operations including policy principles and control requirements.
- Facilitating the business risk and control self-assessments ensuring appropriate business focus on internal/external change and emerging risks. Challenge the business as to the appropriateness, effectiveness and completeness of its internal controls, risk mitigations plans and related progress.
- Assisting first line stakeholders in identifying appropriate risk metrics/key risk indicators to monitor adherence to established Risk appetites.
- Assisting and advising first line stakeholders on relevant incident management information which may include adherence to Global incident management policies, themes and trends, and deep-dives as necessary
- Overseeing the delivery of governance forum reports and materials and other enterprise risk-related management reporting and analysis as required or beneficial including Key Risk Indicator reporting to ensure appropriate escalations, monitoring, and management of enterprise risk within risk appetite.
- Ensuring that risk management programs meet or exceed regulatory requirements and expectations, including those related to capital adequacy. May manage risk assessments, scenario analysis and stress testing in support of regulatory requirements.
- Providing communication of risk management activities and outcomes to the Global Head of Operational Risk and relevant Risk Management Committees as required and/or beneficial.
- Being a trusted point of advice for risk and control owners throughout the construction, management and continued oversight of policies and controls.
- Partnering with stakeholders in the business to ensure that emerging risks are considered and managed for business initiatives and/or change.
- Managing and developing reporting staff members, ensuring continuous development of skills to meet evolving industry/regulatory Enterprise Risk and strategic business standards.
- 8+ years' experience in enterprise/operational risk in a financial services firm, preferably asset management
- Proven success in facilitating an Operational Risk program
- Solid knowledge of operational risk exposure to asset management firms, particularly within back and middle office
- Demonstrated understanding of best practice in managing risk of large change initiatives and/ or Third-Party Risk
- Experience in working effectively with multiple levels in an organization including Senior Management Committees and Boards.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk, Business or relevant discipline; advanced degree and/or accreditations beneficial.
