    Job Title: Commercial Construction Estimator

    Overview: Looking for a skilled and dedicated Commercial Construction Estimator to become part of our team. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in construction estimation, particularly in commercial building projects. This role presents an exciting chance to contribute to various construction ventures by accurately assessing project costs, analyzing bids, and collaborating with project stakeholders.

    Responsibilities:

    • Project Evaluation: Review project specifications, blueprints, and site conditions to fully grasp project scope, requirements, and limitations.
    • Cost Estimation: Use construction estimating software and industry expertise to create detailed and precise cost estimates, covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
    • Bid Preparation: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to develop thorough bid proposals that align with project specifications and budget constraints.
    • Vendor and Subcontractor Management: Gather quotes from suppliers and subcontractors, negotiate pricing and terms, and maintain positive relationships to secure competitive pricing and quality services.
    • Value Engineering: Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options while upholding project quality and integrity, offering alternative solutions and suggestions as necessary.
    • Cost Tracking: Keep track of project costs throughout construction, comparing actual expenses to estimated costs and identifying discrepancies for proactive cost control.
    • Document Management: Organize and keep accurate project documentation, including bids, contracts, change orders, and correspondence, ensuring accessibility for project stakeholders and compliance with regulations.
    • Communication: Engage effectively with project teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to clarify requirements, address issues, and facilitate smooth project execution.
    • Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, building codes, regulations, and best practices in commercial construction, continuously enhancing expertise and contributing to team knowledge.

    Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated experience as a construction estimator, preferably focusing on commercial building projects.
    • Proficient in construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and costs, with the ability to accurately interpret project blueprints and specifications.
    • Strong mathematical and analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and accuracy.
    • Effective communication and negotiation skills, capable of collaborating with various stakeholders and fostering strong relationships.
    • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Schedule and Compensation:

    • This role is full-time with standard business hours, occasional overtime may be necessary to meet project deadlines.
    • Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
