- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of VIP's CVIPI grant.
- Convene and co-facilitate CVIPI Planning Process.
- Supervise consultant hired to support the planning process.
- Manage communication with all CVIPI partners, including the research partner.
- Collaborate with BPHC's administrative, fiscal and legal offices to determine and achieve administrative,budgetary and legal requirements of projects.
- Manage grants' data collection and ensure timely and accurate reports for federal and city grants.
- Maintain a regular presence in the VIP neighborhoods and attend meetings and activities of the VIPcoalitions.
- Provide training and technical assistance to Neighborhood Coalitions, as needed.
- Serves as primary liaison between VIP CVIPI partners and Boston Public Health Commission.
- Ensure that maximum fidelity is applied in implementation of evidence-based strategies.
- Manage the Implementation Phase of the CVIPI grant and support integration of partner clientele withexisting neighborhood VIP coalitions.
- Prepare reports and briefing material for Director on regular basis to provide information on status ofprojects, as well as recommendations for future action.
- Travel to annual Grantee Meetings.
- Meet regularly with the Director regarding all aspects of program operations.
- Develop, implement and manage projects and/or initiatives related to the program for the provision ofservices and/or to ensure effective operations and compliance with established standards and/or contracted goals and objectives.
- Work in a confidential capacity with the Director when needed. Operate independently. Use independentjudgment and discretion to make decisions affecting the program and staff as it relates to program operations/services and BPHC policy.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in related fields, such as returning citizens, violence prevention, recoveryservices, public health, youth work, family advocacy, mental health, etc., OR Bachelor's degree in arelevant field with 2 years related work experience.
- Minimum 2 years' experience planning and implementing evidence-based strategies.
- Excellent group facilitation and training skills. Understanding trauma-informed and equitable trainingdelivery is a plus, including supporting participants/groups with trauma histories.
- Knowledge of Restorative and/or Transformative Justice frameworks.
- Knowledge of the impact of multiple forms of violence and trauma on individuals and communities.
- Knowledge of the impact of structural and institutional racism, and other forms of oppression, andstrategies to promote racial justice and health equity.
- Candidate must have strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to practice self-reflection and giveand receive constructive feedback.
- Candidate must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to balanceworking independently and collaboratively to produce high-quality work and consistently meetdeadlines.
- Familiar with using various software and platforms for administrative activities, e.g., Microsoft Office(PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Google suite (Drive, Forms, Sheets, etc.).
- Bilingual/bicultural (Spanish, Portuguese, Cape Verdean Creole, Haitian Creole) a plus.

The Division of Violence Prevention's Violence Intervention Prevention (VIP) Initiative is seeking a full-timeProject Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of our Community-Based Violence Intervention Prevention Initiative (CVIPI) Grant, designed to engage and provide support to returning citizens and theircaregivers using a Restorative/Transformative Justice framework and trauma-informed programming. Thisposition is funded by the Department of Justice/Bureau of Justice Administration's CVIPI Initiative and will work
closely with grant participants as well as current VIP neighborhood partners. This is a grant-funded position,expected to last approximately 3 years.
The ideal candidate will have experience with program administration and implementation, as well as meetingfacilitation. They will have experience with trauma-informed practices, Restorative and/or Transformative Justiceand community building. They will have a passion for promoting desistance, healing and racial justice. They havefamiliarity with managing projects and events, including administrative and logistical details such as planning,
outreach, registration, scheduling, data entry, etc. They are self-reflective and enjoy learning and working as partof a team and independently. We particularly encourage applicants with lived experience as a returningcitizen and/or caregiver of an incarcerated person or returning citizen.
Who We Are
VIP's mission is to prevent violence through building and sustaining strong communities whereresidents are knowledgeable about the root causes of violence and empowered to address them. Throughneighborhood coalitions in Roxbury, Dorchester and Mattapan, VIP works to ensure that residents have theknowledge and resources they need to feel empowered to be part of the solution and create sustained change intheir communities. The coalitions work to shift the narrative of violence and to identify and address persistent
social and environmental issues that contribute to elevated levels of violent incidents. VIP uses a trauma informed community building approach which creates multiple ways for residents to participate in activitiesaccessible to all community members.
DUTIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
City of Boston Residency Required, A Criminal Offenders Records Information request must be completed for this position. Shift
35 hours per week.
9AM to 5PM; Monday to Friday (some evenings and weekend may be required).
