- Manage and lead a team of software engineers, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Drive technical decision making.
- Develop and implement software engineering plans, processes, and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure that software engineering projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that software engineering projects align with business objectives.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the software engineering team.
- Prepared to jump in as needed to do some hands-on engineering to get work done.
- Work closely with the product owner to define product requirements and ensure successful product launches.
- Drive continuous improvement in software development processes and methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 3+ years experience managing software engineering teams, providing exceptional leadership and mentoring.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, prioritize work.
- Amazing communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Deep understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
- Extensive technical background delivering resilient and scalable distributed systems, leveraging both service-oriented and event-driven architectures in AWS.
- Experience with software development tools and technologies such as Java & SpringBoot, Go, Python and/or Javascript
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.
- Proficiency with Golang and/or Java 11+ & Spring Boot building backend APIs and services that interface with frontend applications, and internal and third party API integrations;
- Solid experience with Docker, Kubernetes and the AWS exosytem (3+ years);
- Working experience on any of (and, ideally, several of): MongoDB, Redis, AWS (DynamoDB, SQS, Lambda, API Gateway) and others;
- Experience working with React for web applications and React Native for cross-platform mobile applications;
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform or Cloud Formation or CDK)
- Experience with data engineering (writing and maintaining ETLs) and business intelligence pipelines
- Experience building and operating AI/ML platforms to deploy and scale ML models. Experience and understanding of the entire machine learning pipeline from data ingestion to production
