- High School Diploma or equivalent with one of the following:
- Completion of at least two (2) years at an accredited higher education institution (equivalent to 60 semester hours) or passage of the PRAXIS exam
- Meeting high-quality standards through state or local academic assessments
- Proficiency in assisting with teaching reading, writing, and mathematics
- Capability to aid in teaching reading, writing, and mathematics readiness
- Passion for aiding students with special needs in their educational journey
- Emotional resilience and maturity essential for handling specialized tasks
- Basic clerical skills
- Preferably, experience in computer data entry
- Understanding of physical, health, and emotional challenges faced by students with exceptionalities
- Aptitude to meet the physical demands of the role
- Offering instructional and developmental support to students with exceptionalities under professional supervision
- Assisting in organizing and executing learning activities
- Maintaining accurate records of student activities using computer tools
- Responding to crisis situations as directed by certified staff
- Providing care according to individual health care plans
- Reinforcing learning materials introduced by certified staff to individuals or small groups
- Collaborating with staff to develop personalized learning strategies
- Supervising students during various periods and activities
- Assisting with non-instructional classroom tasks
- Upholding ethical standards and student confidentiality
- Engaging in approved in-service training programs
- Performing other duties as assigned
