- Perform monthly and ongoing price variance analysis.
- Review capitalized variance and adjustments monthly.
- Analyze quarterly standard cost change.
- Review routings and burden rate annually.
- Perform material cost analysis as needed, including freight rate calculations.
- Monitor moving average pricing for select locations.
- Periodically Update Overhead and Surcharge percentages for select items and locations.
- Participate in project actual to budget analysis as needed.
- Work with various locations for inventory valuation.
- Must be able to interface with various levels of personnel within the company.
- Must be able to work independently and work well in a team environment as necessary.
- Prepare and check monthly general ledger journal entries as needed.
- Assist in the monthly accounting close processes if needed.
- Provide executive management team with cost reports and ad hoc analysis.
- Understand and stay current with cost accounting best practices.
- Support internal audits, SOX, JSOX compliance processes.
- Provide inventory reports as required.
- Other duties, assignments and specific projects may be assigned at the discretion of management.
- Material Handling/manufacturing company is preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Be a strong team player.
- Ability to analyze problems and provide problem resolutions.
- Solid analytical and decision making skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present findings in a clear, concise manner.
- Exceptional organization skills with the ability to plan, schedule and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment and work well under pressure.
- Bachelors degree in accounting is preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible cost accounting experience.
- SAP experience strongly preferred.
