The Division of Youth Services (DYS) is dedicated to providing care and supervision to youth committed by the District Court to the custody of the Colorado Department of Human Services. Summary of Work Unit:
Our mission at DYS is to build the skills and competencies of youth, fostering their development into responsible citizens. As a Social Worker / Counselor III, you will provide therapeutic intervention services using evidence-based practices to support youth's well-being and successful reintegration into the community.
Summary of the Position:
This role focuses on mental health counseling, delivering clinical assessments, therapies, and suicide risk monitoring for youth with behavioral and psychiatric challenges. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for the youth's needs.
Job Duties:
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, you must hold a current license as a Professional Counselor (LPC) or Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have at least one year of relevant experience. Additional substitutions and conditions of employment apply.
Training and Consultation:
Stay updated on best practices in treating juvenile mental health, substance abuse, and co-occurring disorders. Provide training and guidance to staff and participate in ongoing education to enhance treatment services.
Documentation and Communication:
Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of treatment sessions and communicate effectively with relevant parties to support youth's progress.
