- Installs, troubleshoots, repairs, adjusts and maintains electrical equipment and controls in water reclamation plants, pumping stations and sewage collection control structures.
- Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs motor vehicle electrical systems and components.
- Performs necessary rigging in handling equipment and operates cranes, hoists, sludge diggers and bridges to expedite installation and repair work.
- Lays out raceways by bending, cutting, threading heavy wall conduit, flexible conduit, and EMT and cable trays. Installs conduit fittings and pull boxes. Pulls wire/cable and makes terminations to complete electrical installations in a workmanlike manner.
- Installs and removes hold cards to de-energize, isolate and clear electrical systems operating at 600 volts or less as necessary to protect equipment and personnel.
- Is responsible for the custody and care of all tools and equipment used in performing electrical mechanic work.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of the electrical trade.
- Considerable knowledge of the national electrical code and other relevant codes and regulations.
- Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work.
- Skill in the use and care of the equipment and tools of the trade.
- Ability to plan, lay out, install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment.
- Ability to make electrical repairs to motor vehicles.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from a standard senior high school or the equivalent and completion of an approved apprentice training program for Electrical Mechanics, or an equivalent combination of experience and training totaling five years.Substitution
