Responsibilities:


The
Transportation Planner will work directly with project managers performing a wide variety of planning responsibilities related to transportation planning, public outreach, government presentations, sociocultural effects analysis, community impact analysis and documentation related to project development and environment (PD&E) studies, trail/bicycle/pedestrian studies, and urban street studies for clients such as FDOT, counties and municipalities.


Responsibilities:


  • Conduct technical planning aspects of roadway and multimodal alternatives analysis related to safety, community impact analysis, land use, and public involvement.
  • Perform complex research including development code and comprehensive plans;
  • Develop solutions to planning issues;
  • Write and edit technical reports;
  • Coordinate and assist in the preparation of engineering documents including PD&E studies, feasibility studies, public involvement material, and preliminary engineering reports;
  • Lead and prepare GIS analysis and mapping
  • Conduct project administrative tasks such as preparing meeting notes and progress reports;
  • Interact with the public and attend periodic project public meetings in various Florida cities;
  • Support marketing efforts related to new project pursuits.

  • Strong writing and oral skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in planning related studies from an accredited fouryear college,
  • Demonstrated 3 to 5+ years in progressively responsible experience;
  • PD&E or corridor study experience required
  • Proficiency in GIS analysis and mapping is required.
  • Demonstrated participation in professional organizations a plus;
  • Understanding of traffic operational and level of service analysis is a plus.
  • Ability to become proficient as a planning task lead;
  • Microsoft office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Positive attitude;
  • Travel to other offices or project locations may be required.
