Job Title: Category Analyst
Duration: 6 Months - Contract to Hire.
Location: Position is hybrid - Primarily remote position with some days in Saint Paul, Mendota Heights, MN office.
JOB SUMMARY
The Category Analyst - Fleet Services will provide category service value at the lowest possible cost while maintaining all State and Federal regulatory requirements and policies. This role will maintain vendor relationships, policies and program details, data KPI dashboards and partner with cross functional teams to support or administer assigned programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Monitor category performance KPIs, provide guidance in meeting established asset and budgetary targets for fleet, mileage reimbursement and transportation categories
• Perform ongoing assessments of strategic and tactical category continuous improvement opportunities by Business Unit
• Maintain vendor relationships and monitor vendor performance; identify and support ongoing service improvement areas
• Assist in vendor sourcing and negotiations; support request for quote via service level agreement (SLA) and contract administration
• Perform cost / pricing analysis related to Fleet/Vehicle service management; measuring project savings, cost avoidance or opportunity
• Maintain vendor portal routing guides, internal access administration, and supplier compliance programs
• Daily customer service with employees, internal departments, suppliers, vendor representatives, 3rd party providers and corporate departments: Legal, Tax, Payroll, Regulatory, and PLSI
• Category Invoice accounts payable coding to appropriate account and reconcile with P&L statements
o Freight, Fleet, and Employee Vehicle Re-imbursement
• Administrative and communication lead on category change management initiatives and/or projects
• Direct the accurate charging/allocation of discretionary spending to appropriate organizational cost center (s)
• Serve as "interface" between Program staff and Finance staff to ensure procurement activities and required supporting documentation are processed in a timely manner.
• Assist in any special projects as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or similar area
• 5+ years of experience in category and or sourcing management - highly preferred in Fleet Services or Transportation
• Proficient in oral and written communication
• Proficient in large data analysis
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software
• Proficient in Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years of project management
• 2+ years of program management and administration
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Operating a computer or other office devices for the majority of the workday
• May occasionally need to move packages up to 10 pounds such as office supplies or equipment.
• Must be able to communicate with others in person, over the phone, and in writing.
• Must be able to understand and effectively exchange accurate information with others such as coworkers, customers and vendors.
• Must be able to read and interpret various electronic and written documents.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
• This position is in an office environment in which team members occupy desks in assigned areas or at meeting/collaboration spaces within the building. The building's primary work areas consist of desks, chairs, computers and other office equipment and devices for professional services.
TRAVEL AND ON-CALL
• Up to 10-20%
