- Assess the performance of the sub-Transmission and Distribution system performance regarding capacity and reliability and develop modernization plans as necessary.
- Conduct 15 year area studies and develop long term integrated plans for infrastructure development to meet National Grid's strategic objectives.
- Develop conceptual project plans that if implemented economically address identified T&D system needs.
- Effectively form project teams of internal and external stakeholders for the development of project plans.
- Ensure asset data (ie load readings and equipment settings) is captured correctly in the appropriate asset registers.
- Analyze policies, strategies and programs that are in progress or completed to determine their effectiveness versus stated goals.
- Recommend alternative engineering solutions to management to meet business needs.
- Provide technical support to internal and external departments for the application, operation, and maintenance of the electric transmission and distribution system.
- Able to lead and supervise a project team or virtual teams to achieve business objectives.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Proactively makes changes to improve performance, efficiency and effectiveness of processes, for example challenge existing engineering procedures and highlight areas for improvement.
- Possesses positive expectations for team members and expresses regard for them.
- Is receptive to change and is willing to change ideas or opinions based on new information or contrary evidence.
- A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited engineering program. EIT and Professional Engineer license desirable.
