    Description
    Job Summary
    The Controller will be responsible for overseeing financial operations and reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. They will manage accounting processes, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and provide strategic financial guidance to the company.

    Pay Range :
    $120K - $150K

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Oversee all aspects of the accounting function, including monthly close process, financial statement preparation, and internal controls.

    Manage a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, and ensuring efficient completion of assigned tasks.

    Partner with the CFO and VP of Finance to develop and implement financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts.

    Consolidate financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

    Work closely with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.

    Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including operations, sales, and marketing, to provide financial analysis and support.


    Oversee tax accounting functions and collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

    Manage cash flow and develop strategies to optimize working capital.

    Stay abreast of industry regulations and accounting standards specific to the cannabis industry.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    CPA designation preferred.

    Minimum of 5 years of experience in a corporate controller or similar role, preferably within the cannabis industry.

    In-depth knowledge of GAAP.

    Strong understanding of internal controls and financial reporting processes.

    Proven experience in managing and leading an accounting team.

    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization.

    Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.

    A strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

    Work Environment


    This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and may work in proximity with customers and staff.

    Must be able to travel to other office locations.

    Job Requirements


    Work revolves around objectives, projects, and priorities; must be able to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours occasionally as needed.

    Must be able to stand, walk, lift, sit, and bend for a majority of their work schedule.

    Must be able to travel to other office locations.

    Ability to use a computer and calculator for 8 hours or more.

    Required to have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving history. Must have own transportation.

    Must be 21 years of age or older.

    Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.


    Selected candidates will be required to complete a post offer, pre-employment background check with the local law enforcement or city Police Department.
